The FRESH Speakers Academy Crash Course is a mini-program created out of FRESH Speakers Academy that helps participants develop and deliver a crystal clear, story-rich, short talk for an upcoming conference.

What’s provided in the Crash Course?

ON-DEMAND CLASSES

Our Crash Course is a 90-minute course, comprised of four bite-sized classes, that will walk a group of participants through the talk development process. Classes include:

I. Find The Thread – What is the one thing you want the audience to walk away with?

II. Sticky Storytelling – It’s stories, not arguments, that change hearts and minds. Learn how to tell a story in the most sensory-rich, unforgettable way.

III. Say It Plain – Jargon can be a frequent and fatal error when you’re trying to speak to a broader audience. Learn how to cut all the jargon in your talk, and selection only the most impactful of metrics.

IV. Be Your Own Best Editor – Learn how to trim down, refine, and fine tune your talk into the best version it can be.

EXPERT COACHING

Participants will also receive editing support during the course of the writing process. This includes up to 2 rounds of edits on their talks by our award-winning communications experts. (Many of whom have given TED talks.)

VIRTUAL REHEARSALS

Before the event, speakers will gather together for an online “dress rehearsal,” which will include:

• Preparation tips before the big day, including memorization, your pre-talk routine, and our best methods for rehearsing.
• Our top on-stage tips from our coaches on delivery, presence, body language.
• An opportunity to rehearse your talk live with our coaches and their peers, and receive our feedback on your delivery.

We are FRESH Speakers, a speakers bureau and training institute with the mission of creating more inclusion and equity in thought leadership. We have trained over 500 leaders across the globe through our FRESH Speakers Academy, and have curated and coached for over a dozen high profile institutions across the globe, like The Obama Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Sundance Institute. We have also coached many main stage TED speakers, with cumulative views exceeding 50 million.

At this time, we are only accepting applications for institutions or groups looking to provide the experience to a crew of speakers. We are seeking ten institutions to participate in our pilot program, which will kick off in January 2026.
