Anna Sale is the guest you’re afraid to invite, but secretly crave at the dinner table. After covering politics for public radio for a decade, Anna created Death, Sex & Money, the beloved, chart-topping podcast from WNYC Studios about “the things we think about a lot and need to talk about more.”
In her writing and speaking, Anna explores how sharing personal stories builds community, an urgent need in this time of crumbling trust in public institutions and rapid change in our social fabric. Her forthcoming book from Simon & Schuster is called Go There: The Art of Difficult Conversations. She’s fearless, and also gentle, in probing the depths of what we rarely talk about but hold dear. Audiences feel braver in her presence, and most importantly, understood.
Anna Sale is the absolute best at exploring difficult, intimate, and harrowing topics — loss, loneliness, survival, being left behind, pain, secrets, sex (or lack thereof) — while maintaining a deep, deep sense of dignity for the people she interviews.
As an organization that books a number of speakers and authors, we were greatly impressed by Anna. She commanded the audience throughout the engagement and provided great insight, humor, and thoughtfulness into all of the topics she discussed.
