Cate Luzio believes success shouldn’t be gated by access — it should be built through community. After nearly two decades leading billion-dollar businesses in global banking, she walked away from the corporate fast track to self-fund Luminary, a professional education and networking platform designed so people can define achievement on their own terms. What began as a bold experiment in inclusive leadership has grown into a multimillion-dollar ecosystem serving more than 15,000 members and 100+ enterprise partners around the world.
Before founding Luminary in 2018, Cate held senior global leadership roles at HSBC, J.P. Morgan, and Bank of America, running multinational corporate banking divisions and overseeing complex international portfolios. Her corporate career earned repeated recognition from American Banker, the Financial Times, and Yahoo Finance for advancing diversity and leadership excellence. Through Luminary, she redirected that experience toward closing the investment gap she witnessed firsthand — especially for women and underestimated talent in the “power middle” of organizations.
Today, Cate works with companies to build cultures that retain, develop, and elevate people at scale. A trusted voice in business and media, Cate speaks frequently on leadership, equity, and the future of work for organizations including Verizon, JPMorgan Chase, Fidelity, BlackRock, UBS, and ADP, and at major forums like SXSW and Inc. 5000. She brings a rare blend of corporate rigor and entrepreneurial conviction to every stage, grounded in a simple belief: when more people have access to opportunity, everyone wins.
